Pokémon
After my crazy party night on Friday, coming home at nine in the morning on Saturday, spending a couple of hours on the brainless activity of tagging 200 photos on Facebook and then eating "breakfast" with Natasha and Mary, I came home and fell asleep on the couch around three in the afternoon. Some time later I dragged my exhausted self to the bedroom and passed out on the bed. I was half dead for the coming twelve hours, dreaming about sharks among other things I barely remember.
This morning I woke up around nine thirty to one text message that got me worried and one that made me really happy. Once again I swore about not having any credit on my phone, threw it on the bed and went to the front room to shut off the air conditioning. This is the I don't know which time I wake up and really freeze! I was so surprised to see that the TV was still on, but then I saw it was a music video with Lady Gaga on, which of course made me quite happy!
When it was over I switched to a children's channel and watched Pokémon, really proud for understanding almost everything (it was in French, of course). I remember the extreme hype around the whole Pokémon concept when I was a little girl. It was CRAZY! Everyone had the cards, everybody watched the show and a whole bunch of kids played they were Pokémon collectors like the boy in the show.
My favourite characters were the guy and the girl who always came and made a big mess out of everything. And their cat, of course! I don't remember their names but I do know that there was a special music coming on everytime they entered the screen and that they said something about "double trouble". In today's episode of Pokémon the main character had to fight with a girl who had a Pokémon that produced this really bad smelling gas. Then the Double Trouble persons came and the cat brought a bomb which blew up at the completely wrong time. Well well, it's maybe time for me to engage in some activity that is a little more adult. Maybe. I'll think about it...
So, why did I get so happy because of one of the text messages? Well, my sister just wrote me that she and my mother are coming here to visit me! They arrive next Sunday! :D :D :D They are going to live at my place which will probably drive me absolutely crazy, but it will be so worth it! Woohoo!
From ghetto to pretto
Now I have had some time to get used to my new surroundings and I must say I am enjoying myself to the fullest. Let's make a little comparison between the place I lived a week ago and the place I live now...
First of all, now I can walk safely alone in the street no matter what hour. I must say I have been extremely lucky to have gotten away with the forty minute walks I took in the middle of the night to come home to the host family. Considering that it went on for four weeks, I have truly had a great amount of luck because nothing bad has happened! That apartment is located in the north-east of Nice, not such a safe area and pretty far from everything.
Which leads us to the next thing - I live so close to everything now! It only takes me ten to fifteen minutes to go to school now and only five minutes to get to the beach! Something that used to take thirty and fourty-five, respectively.
Though living with a host family had a lot of advantages - for example that they fed me and were really nice and great people - I really really REALLY enjoy living on my own! I have taken on the role as the "perfect hostess" à la Bree van der Kamp in Desperate Housewives, you could say. I just LOVE bringing my friends to the apartment, feeding them and making tasty coctails! It's so much fun! A few days ago I invited Matilda, Frida, Nicola and my most recently acquired friend Natasha (who is also my neighbour) for Mojitos à la Milena and a Coffee-Baileys drink that I invented. I felt so proud when I saw that they likes it! And yesterday I made them French toast! :D
Well well, I can just go on and on about the advantages of the new place. So I will :) Except for the proximity to all things I need, the neighbourhood is also very very nice. From having to watch out for the freshly produced steaming dog poo piles that could appear out of nowhere and attach me when I walked to or from the host family's place, I have changed the scene completely. Now there are fancy stores lining the streets - like Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Chanel and Dior - and drag my eyes from the ground. And trees. Really cute trees with green leaves. My street is actually one of the very few in Nice that has trees!
And, one of the best things... There is a rooftop terrasse! No one except for the people who live in the building can go there so basically I can be alone up there. Which means that I can do some topless tanning ;D There are loung-chairs and everything up there! Yesterday Natasha and I sat there and painted our nails and I got the idea to make us some coctails. I just mixed together some orange juice with the rum I had left from earlier. Oh, it was not good at all... Uuuuh! But I like the idea, having drinks on the roof! :D Not bad at all ;)
Here come some pictures :)
That sofa of mine is pretty popular :) LOVES IT!
First day at the new place. It took me only half an hour to unpack my two suitcases AND hang all the clothes in the closet AND arrange all other stuff. That's how excited I was about the move :D
PS: It's not really pretto here. I just thought about the song "From zero to hero" in Disney's Hercules and wanted to come up with an equivalent :D
Random pictures from worth-to-remember moments

This is Tamsin, Matilda, Marlon and I on July 14th, a.k.a. the national day of France. We all gathered on the beach to watch the amazing fireworks. I loved it so much!

Because honestly, what's there not to love?
So, I visited beautiful Montecarlo in Monaco, and here is the result of that.

I was in a fairytale :D

Since life can't stand still here, we dressed up (my dress cost only 15 euro might I add) and went to Palais in Cannes.

And I was an angel!

Once again I was hitchhiking! And yes, I did come home safely :)
"DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!"
But of course I also want to tell you a little about my weekend!
On Saturday, we went to the club Palais, which wasn't so funny at first, so we went out to take some air (that is, ruin our lungs with some passive smoking). Just as we sat there and the suggestion to just go home was handing in the air, a guy comes up to us and asks if we want to join him and his friends at their table. "It would be my pleasure", he said. So we agreed to that and the mood of the night changed completely because we had a great night at their table. One funny thing happened though. I was sitting alone and looking around at all the people, the decorations and the strippers when one of the older men in the company sat down next to me. I wanted to be nice so I said "Hello, how are you?". Without answering my question - without saying a word actually, or even looking at me - he just handed me a white card. I took the card, looked at it and didn't understand anything so I asked what it was. "I live in the Martinez hotel. I want you to join me in my suite later". ................ Yes, that is what happens in France. Crazy. I started laughing and gave him the card back. "Thanks but no thanks", I said through the giggles. Oh la la, those Italian mafiosi...
After Palais closed at five in the morning, the girls and I didn't qiute know what to do. We had no money on us what so ever and we were super hungry! Suddenly I hear: "Oh, Heaven must have opened its doors, because I see angels walking in the street". I looked around and saw this guy looking at me and Matilda. I really couldn't control myself, once again I started laughing like crazy. I said: "DUDE! You did not just say that! Oh my God, that's so CHEEZY!!!". Anyway, Matilda, Frida and I started talking to him about different stuff and among other things we found out, was that he works with music so he knows a lot of DJs and stuff like that. He had been to the Swedish House Mafia thing that took place in Palais on Friday (something the girls and I missed because we thought it would be on Saturday). He offered to invite us for some food and our hunger answered for us. We went and bought some freaky burgers and sandwiches in some kebab-like place. Though it tasted really bad I ate most of it because I was so terribly hungry.
So, we sat there with him and his cousin for a little while, when suddenly it felt a little uneasy. He said stuff like "I feel there is something special between us" to Matilda and "We should examine it further". So Frida faked a phone call that supposedly was for me. The official story was that my roommate Sara had locked herself out of our apartment and that she really needed to go in because her flight to Sweden was going to leave in not so many hours. I don't know if the guys believed it or not, but when we had gotten out of there, Matilda and Funny complemented my so-called acting skills and said that THEY almost believed me!
So here comes the explanation for the title of this entry. We just came to the conclusion that since we had no money we wound have to hitchhike back to Nice (again...). We placed ourselved in the street with our armes outstretched in the traditional hitchhiking pose and waited. Out of nowhere, a car poppes up and almost crushes us! The gyu in the driver's seat is apparently super drunk and his friend in the fron seat next to him is completely passed out. Frida mumbles something that sounds like "Don't drink and drive...". I was just completely taken by surprise so I just stared at everybody. Suddenly, Matilda stomps up to the car, places both hands on the window frame and yells with her really raspy voice: "DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!". The whole scene froze completely for a second. A moment later I registered the guys' reactions. They didn't even know how to react. They looked completely shocked! The guy who had been completely passed out a few seconds ago, had even woke up! Oh, we laughed our souls out! I couldn't talk, I couldn't breath, I couldn't make up a single sound. All I did was laugh my famous laugh which makes everyone think that I have a severe astma attack! Oh Lord...
We managed to catch three different cars that dropped us off at different destinations along the way, and that's how we finally arrived in Nice in nine o' clock in the morning. I showed the girls the apartment, cooked them some tea and we sat there laughing hysterically about the night. Since none of us had slept at all we were above tired. Absolutely everithing was super funny and made us laugh like crazy. After a little while we set off to the beach. Our plan was to get some sleep there. In stead, I went for a little swim, and then another. The weather was perfect and since we had arrived in the beach pretty early we also got the perfect spot - right by the water. The breeze felt wonderful and every now and then a little splash of sea water washed over me legs. It felt like Heaven :)

Now I have some stuff to do at home before my trip to St Tropez this evening :)
Little kingdom
Across the continent of Europe
So, I started talking about my loved ones at home the other day. When I didn't talk or think about my life in Sweden, it was okay. I was completely absorbed by my life here in France, which is like living on another plantet compared to my life in Sweden. Just hanging out with my newfound friends, going to the beach, partying, meeting new people, enjoying the nice weather. All in all - just loving Nice. But as soon as I opened my mouth and the words started pooring out, I realized how much I miss everybody at home!
I can't wait until I can see my beloved friends and family again. I want to tell them all about my adventures here in Nice and see their reactions and facial expressions first hand! In real life. Especially Viktoria has a particularly vivid way of expressing emotions and it will be so fun to see the surprise and horror and relief playing on her face! I long to hear the comments which will be said by Samina, always to the point and, OH so correct. I anticipate that Tanzila will be very encouraging and that I'm not really risking getting yelled at by her. I hope. Malin will probably just laugh and ask me a lot of hard-to-answer questions to REALLY make me tell her everything. My sister, Nadja, will probably think to herself: "Somebody must have tricked us our whole lives saying that SHE is the older sister...". My mother will just never let me go to another country for eight weeks ever again. And my grandmother... well, I will probably just tell her the cliff notes version :)

Oh, you guys, I miss you!
Gothic McDonald's
I have spent this day shopping. Or should I maybe say, trying to shop? I ran all over Nice in my pink flip-flops desperately searching for a dress. A very specifif one, in fact. I am actually the worst imaginable shopper. Instead of appreciating what the stores have to offer, which usually is a lot, I always have a strong and persistant mental image of exactly what I want and I keep comparing everything I see with that.
Today I had mentally designed the most beautiful gray-silver dress. It was above knee length and very simple. Simple because I was planning on accentuating the accessories and shoes. Well well well, did I find this drss? Of course not. I tried with everything - real dresses, big T-shirts, long tops, short tops in large sizes... Nothing worked. Either it had the wrong colour or it was too long or too short. Or the wrong material or just wrong. Can you understand my situaton?
My only consolation is that I would be the perfect costumer with a personal taylor. He would be so pleased with me for having such clear descriptions of exactly what I want, and I would definitely like someone sewing me exactly what I want and exactly the way I want it :D WIN WIN!
The truly amazing thing is that I WILL get a taylor made "little something" soon for a really special event that will take place in September. I will not say anything more about it right now though, I don't want to ruin the surprise. All I will reveal now is just that I am really - REALLY - looking forward to it! ;) ;) ;)
Survival guide part 1
This is what happened to me the other day when I went down to the beach: I was busy enjoying the warm water and the sun shining on my face, when I suddenly felt an intense burning pain in my leg. Since I have been thinking a lot about the jellyfish around here and really doing my best to avoid them, my body was somehow prepared for this and reacted on instinct, so I started swimming to shore as fasst as I could. When I came out from the water I examined my leg and saw the terrifying rash spreading all over my calf. I ran to the lifeguard booth and the smokin' hot lifeguard looked anxiously at me and wondered what was wrong.
And here comes the survival vocabulary, you guys! I pointed at my leg and just said one word: MEDUSE!
He directed me to the medicin station where a girl put some cream on it and said that I could go back swimming if I wanted to. So that was that, no biggie. I actually did go back to the water but I stayed really close to shore this time. Now I know what it's like being burned by a jellyfish. It's nowhere near what I had imagined! Now I undersand that you don't die from it, that it only hurts for a little while and that the horrible rash disappears pretty fast. Who knows, maybe my fear for the freaking creatures is cured!

Jellyfish = Meduse
Yes, I Cannes
Bonjour!
Yesterday evening I gave Cannes another try. You remember the complete failure Matilda and I suffered the last time we gave it a go? Fortunately, this time it all worked out pretty good. Not at all as we expected, but does it ever? We met up by the train station at nine o 'clock. You might think that is early, at least I did, so imagine my surprise when this guy came up to me and tried to take my hand mirror from me so he could hold it up for me. I gently said thanks but no thanks and turned my back to him to continue examining my pores. But French guys are so persistent! Of course he didn't get the hint, but kept trying to talk to me. I said "Non, c'est bon, merci" (which means "No, it's fine, thank you"). Quite polite, as is necessary in France, but still really strictly. And still he kept trying to get kontact with me and even tried to touch me! Then I had enough and snapped in a really bitchy voice "Qu'est-ce que tu veux alors?!" ("What do you want from me, huh?!"). He glared a little and said something about me being mean but at least it worked :D
When all the girls came, we had some champagne and wine right in front of the station and then hopped on the train, with one of the bottles safely hidden in a white plastic bag so we could have a few sips on the way. The train ride was great actually! We took some pictures, talked, listened to music and had a few laughs. The time flew by and all of a sudden we were in Cannes.
First of all we went to a bar where there was karaoke! Oh, I love karaoke! Of course I had to sing a little, but due to the limited choises they offered, I had to go with "Baby one more time"... At least I knew the lyrics :D And after a while, I sang an ABBA duett with Julia and yet another with Matilda! Money money money for the win!
Not only did we sing, but we also had shots! Tequila, Malibu, Tequila, Malibu! So great to do stuff like that when all the girls are gathered together, having fun, enjoying a great night out!
Unfortunately, things slowed down a little around two o 'clock. We went from club to club which weren't really that great and in the end we found ourselves standing in front of a kebab restaurant with the saliva streaming down our chins. Of curse I baught myself a kebab. Usually I don't like it that much but oh, this one was goooooooooood! I devoured the whole thing!
We started talking about how we would be able to get home, smething that is not so easy with the poor communications in France, especially three o 'clock in the morning the day before the National Day. All of a sudden I found myself and the girls talking to three Brittish guys (LOVING THE ACCENT!). Ther names were Pete, Finn and Jamie and we decided to hang with them instead of going home. So Matilda, Tamsin, Nadia and I hopped into two taxis with them and went to their place in a suburb (?) called Sofia which is close to Antibes. We had some drinks and talked. We started preparing the jacuzzi but after a while everyone forgot about it. Almost everyone fell asleep to one of the funny episodes of Friends :)
In the morning we had choclate pudding for breakfast. You know the same kind that Charlotte in Sex and the City always had when they were in Mexico? It was good but not too satiating. While the others were getting ready and discussing how the f**k to get home, I had a little jacuzzi fun and even managed to get in some tanning minutes on the rooftop balcony. It felt great and relaxing. When we had figured out some kind of a plan for how to get home, Pete and Finn followed us to a bus station from which it would be easier to continue on towards Nice.
For a few minutes we stood in the hot sun with our arms stretched out towards the bypassing cars and our thumbs pointing upwards. Hitchhiking can be a bitch, but in the end a really nice man picked us up and gave us a ride to the nearest train station which was Antibes. We took the train to Nice and came home safe and sound and that's pretty much the whole story :) Loving the spontaniosity of it!
Well, all Ican say now is...
Happy National day of France!
What the..?
I want a picture and a description of the blog. I actually wrote one but it doesn't show. And I added a picture too so why can't I see it? Oh, this computer stuff always takes the fun out of things!
You know what they say...
"If a weekend has been slow, the following week will rock your ass off!"
;) ;) ;)
Nice-police
We got to the train station at about eleven o'clock and saw that the first train to Cannes would go at twelve twenty! Bugger! We decided to go and buy a drink while waiting and I also bought a cheese burger from Isla Burger. The girl who sold it to me was so rude! Probably because Matilda and I looked like some kind of fashion creatures who had just stepped right out of a haute couture magazine and still didn't understand how Platet Earth works, for example that fancy looking princesses are not welcome in the ghetto. At least she didn't poison me. The drink-buying was a little easier - Mojito!
We returned to the train station in time and were really excited about the coming trip, but that excitation soon began to withdraw when they announced that the train was twenty minutes late, then fourty... And finally cancelled. I was so frustrated! And tired, weirdly enough. I just wanted to go home and get a good night's sleep. But here's the thing (and please make a mental note about it if you're ever planning on going to Nice) - the worst time ever to walk alone in the streets is between one and two o'clock in the morning. I honestly prefer a little walk at four or ever five o'clock!
We caught sight of a police car standing closeby and I thought about asking the officers for a ride home. But Matilda and I soon started to suspect that they maybe maybe maybe weren't real police officers. They all looked like the perfect bachelorette party strippers! And when I asked them it they knew if there was a bus or anything they said "Vous êtes jolie, bien sûr, mais nous ne pouvons pas vous aider" which means "Sure you're cute, but we can't help you". That got me speechless, so speeeeeechleeeeess. Obviously the police here are too busy looking sexy while chilling in front of the lokal kebab restaurant!
What's even funnier is that Matilda saw an ambulance car with four as sexy guys in it with a sign saying "grève" which means that they were on a strike (work refusal?). That's something that is always going on in France! The curious thing about these guys was that they had turned on the sirens on full force and were just gliding around in the ambulance car checking out chicks. France...
Twilight - Hésitation
Okay, here goes nothing. The long expected day finally arrived yesterday - namely the day when I watched the third movie in the Twilight Saga. Eclipse, in French - Hésitation. I must say that I definitely prefer the French titles over the Swedish: Twilight - Fascination, New Moon - Tentation, Eclipse - Hésitation and Breaking Dawn - Révélation. Although I think these are pretty allright names, cool even, I still haven't changed my mind about the fact that movie titles are better off not changed.
Anyway, I saw the movie in French so imagine my pride when I realized that I understod almost everything they said! Usually I hate dubbed films but this time I was secretly pleased because I didn't have to listen to the boring and dead voices of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. The French voices made it seam like their acting abilities had improved. Aside from the suckiness of the acting, I think Kristen Stewart was absolutey beautiful in the movie! She has such fascinating colors - black hair, light skin, dark ayes, red lips. It gives her a mysterious look, as if she isn't really from our time. I like it! Can't say as much about Robert Pattinson though, althogh I stick to the "he-has-improved-a-bit"-statement. What really surprised me was that Jacob didn't bring out the crazy giggling school girl in me this time! Dude, what happened?! I expected more from you...
Okay, the movie all in all I liked. It was definitely better than the first two. I liked that it had some flashbacks to Rosalie's and Jasper's stories and that the other Cullen-vampires got to fill up a little more screen space than usual. Oh, and before I forget - Victoria's little dummie vampire Riley is pretty hott! But they should have kept the first actress for Victoria.
Go see it, get it out of your systems :)
"You are not woman. Man make you woman"
On Wednesday the girls and I gathered to watch the soccer game in one of the bars. We were totally ditched by Nicola, might I add, who had been the one to suggest the activity in the first place. No harm done, though :) Our little group consisted of me, Matilda and Tamsin, as usual, but with a few newcomers - Canadian Julia from our class and an Austrian girl named Nadia. Since most places were already full, we had a little trouble finding a place where we could sit down, buy a drink and watch the game. In the end we found an empty table in one of the restaurants along Promenade d'Anglais and ordered different stuff to eat or drink. I actually skipped the alcohol and went straight for delicious crêpes with nutella. Oh Gosh, that was a sensation!
As usual, I was just cheering for whichever team that would win, so I was happy for Spain. Go Spain! Every time the players were about to score, people started shouting and rose from their chairs and when the game was over and Spain had won, everybody screamed so much and clapped there hands! It was great!
So I ate my crêpes, people drank their coctails and wine and we continued on to a club where all the girls got as many Sex on the Beach drinks as wanted for free from eleven to one o'clock. It was crasy! I think I had six of them, if not seven. They were delicious! We danced as crazy and snapped loads of fantastic pictures! I will publish a few of them as soon as I get them from Julia and Tamsin.
We also met three French guys whom we talked to and danced with until two o'clock, when we headed for another club called Pompei. Tamsin and Nadia didn't go with us so it was just me, Matilda and Julia. They are so fun to party with, my girls! Oh my! :D
Pompei was crazy! As soon as we went in there we started sweating so much that we could artificially irrigate a whole desert! It was so hot in there and so many people. But a great atmosphere and really good music playing! There is this guy and his band always playing in the clubs here. They play songs of Queen, Coldplay, Greenday and a lot of other bands. And they are really good! The singer-guy with his strange Brittish humour is always making jokes. It is fun to hear him talking in his really strong Brittish accent. Besides, he is really aggressive and kind of angry in a totally great ánd funny way. So the girls and I call him the Angry Brittish Guy. Great it was! I only got home at five o'clock in the morning...
And did we stay in yesterday? Not so much. I met a Swedish guy named Adam in the park where the girls and I were sitting and having a good time. We talked about random stuff and then I showed him and his friends from New Zealand the bar called Wayne's. We got there at the exactly right time! It was really awesome. And the Angry Brittish Guy was performing again. I couldn't strain myself from asking if I could take a picture of him, haha.

Here we have him ;D Not looking so angry, though XD
Later on, everybody was dancing on the tables like crazy and I was standing pretty close to the stage. The Angry Brittish guy caught sight of me and said: "Isn't that the girl who wanted to take my picture? I will give you a song" and he sang Be my girl. Haha!

But the best is yet to come, because tonight the girls and I are going to Cannes!
XOXO
Touristing and marvelling
I am sorry for being blog-absent for the past few days but I have had a lot going on. Which on the other hand means that I have a whole lot of fun stuff to tell you about :) To be honest I have no clue about which day is which and what happened when but I do know the chronology of it so I will start from the top.

A few days ago I went with Matilda, Tamsin and Marlon up to a hill where we had the most amazing view of Nice.

On top of that there was also a beautiful waterfall!

I am really glad we went there. The girls and I had a great time :)

Cute, right? :)

The next day, Matilda, Tamsin and I took the bus to yet another old mountain village - Èze. It is a very charming place with lots and lots of narrow alleys and a medeival wall surrounding the village. It is located high up on a mountain and you can se the Medeterranean sea from one of the view points.

A really funny thing happened. I was about to take a peekaboo picture of Tamsin and Matilda and I had even instructed them into the perfect positions. But just as I pressed the button, a random guy passed and completely distroyed the picture! But now afterwards I think it is even funnier this way :)

Sometimes being a tourist is the best! ;)

More will come it the next entry! :)
Living the American Dream for sure!

You see the original use of colours? I love it! This is a painting of Madame Matisse which I saw at the museum :)
Today I had a little exposé in school. I had absolutely no idea what I was going to talk about, so I took the easy way and improvised a speech about the graduation ceremony and the following parties in Sweden. I was pretty critical of myself afterwards, but Matilda told me I did good so I will just choose to believe her!
After school we went to the beach - Matilda, Angelina, Tamsin, Marlon, Nicola and I. It was nice except for the fact that people said there were a lot of jelly fish in the water, which am really afraid of because they stng the shit out of you! Of course I didn't have the guts to swim at all because of it! Instead Matilda and I ran to the water sports center where Julian (a.k.a. Sawyer) works to just hang a little. Unfortunately, he was to busy actually doing his job to be able to talk a lot to us, but we met a really nice girl from Colombia and talked to her for a while instead before we decided to go back to the others. Oh, the hot hot hot pavement burned my feet so bad!
When we got back we started talking to a couple of guys from America. In total there were four of them, from different cities in the U.S. Nick, Kevin, Matt and Austin are their names. Can it get more American than that?! They were really nice so we invited them to come and join the beach hang tonight! One of them looks kind of like a model. Or like the guy with a horse back riding saddle on his back who you can observ in a picture hanging on the inside of the closet door of a certain fifteen year old girl I know...... ;)
Three countries in a day and Sawyer for desert
I've had the most amazing weekend ever with a few adventures and crazy activities. Friday consisted of a cozy beach hang with some great people from school and a bar spree afterwards. The craziness truly began on Saturday. Matilda, Marlon, Angelina and I were planning on going to Cap Ferrat where there is a nice sand beach, but since we would have to wait for almost half an hour for the bus there, I proposed we go somewhere else instead. So we randomly jumped on a bus headed to a city called Menton. Loving the spontaniousity! It was a nice bus trip - air conditioned and with a great view of the sea. On top of that we also passed Monaco!

As soon as we arrived in Menton, we sprang for the beach and jumped in the clear blue water. It was truly wonderful! We took some pictures, swam and laughed.

We heart Menton! <3
After a little while we got hungry so we decided to... TAKE A LITTLE WALK TO ITALY AND HAVE SOME ITALIAN PIZZA!

It took us almost half an hour to get to the border and once we were in Italy we were overwhelmed by the beautiful mountain beach. The place looked as if it was pulled right out of the movie Blue Lagoon!

We went on a search for an Italian pizzeria. Such naive little girls... We actually climbed halv way up a mountain in hope of finding food! Or it was more like a hill, but still. I don't remember signing up for hiking in Snake Paradise, though...

Instead of a pizzeria we found a view so fantastic that I know I will remember it all my life.

We soon found out that the nearest town, a.k.a. the nearest pizza place, is twelve kilometers from the border. By then we were soaked in our own sweat so we went for a wonderful swim in the blue lagoon. It was truly amazing!

Without the satisfying pizza in our empty stomachs we were craving for food. We stopped by a little supermarket right at the Italian-Franch border and got a little snack. And then we got the crazy idea to... HITCH HIKE OUR WAY BACK TO NICE! Oh, we got lucky. Two super nice Italian guys named Ivan and Lucyo shoved all four of us in the back seat of their car and gave us a ride all the way to the center on Nice. They were joking and made us laugh the entire way. Then they didn't even want money from us as a thank you for the ride. But we will add them on Facebook for sure!

And of course we went out in the evening, playing a little game all through the night. So, my name was Aïsha Quinn, I was born in Afghanistan because my Dad works there. Right now I have an internship at Cosmopolitan in Los Angeles with the boring task of arranging the models' shoes for the photo shoots... Marlon was Anna from Marocco and Matilda was Chie from Japan. It was so much fun! I got to chat up a guy who looked exactly like my mental image of a hot surfer dude from Australia. And he also looked exactly lika Sawyer in Lost! So hot! And when I told him this story he totally believed me, haha :D But on the other hand, why wouldn't he? ;)

Come here, I'm waiting for you! :D
The greatest weekend ever!
Here goes nothing...
I promised Samme that I would upload pictures so here they come!
My two cute suitcases just taken out of the cab by Arlanda Ariport :)
When you see something as beautiful as this view, the long and wearing flight feels totally worth it!
Yeah, just look at it! It's amazing!
Here is my little group :) This was on Monday, our first day in school. We had the morning off and went for a little tour.
French art. Seriously. Would you look at those cakes!

A parachute state of mind
Would you believe me if I said that I did something kinda crazy today? Well, I did! Tamsin, Marlon and I signed up for one of the many activities you can do here in Nice. Since the school offered us a very generous discount, there wasn' even a second's hesitation. Only when I was putting on a life belt I started thinking about what I was about to do... PARACHUTING!
Or at least it was sort of like parachuting. We didn't jump off a plane or anything, though we were up in the air for sure. First we had to put on life belts and the parachute equipment which made all of us look really ridiculous. They fastened us to the parachute and hooked the parachute to the boat. Then it all happened very fast. At first I was walking on the ground as instructed and in the next moment I was suddenly ascending up up up in the air. I had both Tamsin and Marlon with me and got extremely pleased when I discovered that they are just as big fans of screaming their lungs out as I am. So we screamed at the top of our lungs like little girls on a ride in an amusement park (actually I screm a lot in amusement parks too). We were dropped in the water several times and a couple of times we were even dragged behind the boat like a dead weight. It was so much fun!
In the end of the parachute ride, the boat accelerated towards the shore and it honestly felt as if we were going to hit the rocky beach in the speed of sound and die, but as soon as the boat came to a quck stop, so did the parachute. And then the truly stomach-twisting experience began. We started descending really fast and I saw the water coming closer and closer every second and suddenly my feet broke the surface and I was overwhelmed by the salty water that got in to my mouth and nose and ears. So worth it though!
Afterwards the girls and I headed to the foot torture beach and were soon joined by three other girls from school and Nicolas. I went for a little swim with Marlon and we saw a lot of really small fish swimming right next to us. And though I knew that it was a really stupid question, I just had to ask "Are they dangerous?". Afterwards she was quoting me to both Tamsin and Nicolas, joke of the day!
I was just about to go up and tan for a bit, when I suddenly kind of half tripped - half gave up the foot torture. This happened right in front of Nicolas who was standing right there by the water. But it felt so unbelievably and extrmely good to sit down in the water so I didn't even bother go get up. I was just sitting there. Bet it looked... interesting. Man, did I not expect what was coming next! Nicolas asked me if I wanted to go on the "Fly fish". I hesitated a bit because I didn't have any more money with me but then he said it would be for free. Suddenly my feet weren't hurting anymore and I got up in record speed! We went to the litte water sports station again. Once more I got to put on a life belt and then we headed for the water. I must tell you that this was something completely different than the parachute! If the parachute gives you the possibility to have the greatest view of Nice and calmly enjoy the hight and the warm summer breeze, this attaction is the total opposite. Basically, you have to hold on for dear life and cross your legs real tight to not lose your underwear. Or the legs themselves, for that matter. Okay, I'll take it from the beginning. First of all we didn't go on the Fly fish because you have to be more people to do that. This was something else, a rubber triangle looking thing fitting two people and with handles for each person. When we grabbed on to it, the upper part of my body was on it and my legs were in the water.
And off we went. At first I thought that the speed wasn't so bad, it was actually amasing and super cool to go so fast behind the boat and even be able to talk a little to Nicolas. Well, that changed pretty soon. The guy in the boat picked up even more speed until we were going crazy fast and after that I was seriously beginning to suspect that he wanted us dead. He did these unbelievable turns and drowe the boat round and round and round until all of my body was in the water except for my hands which were still grasping on to the slippery handles with fading force. My plan was actually no to give up, I had decided to not let go, and amazingly enough I was surprisingly persistent. Until I suddenly felt my underwear crawling their way down my knees, that is. I crossed my legs and had no other choise but to let go! To my great satisfaction I noticed that Nicolas had left the "vehicle" before me. "Puh", I thought. "I'm not the first one to fall". When I had managed to put on my underwear and found Nicolas I said "Just so you know, the only reason why I let go is because I was about to drop my bikini, otherwise I wouldn't have done it" and his answer was "I actually dropped mine". HAHA! I guess you get my point - cross your legs and hold on for dear life and you'll manage JUST FINE!
We got soaked for a bit more and I even think I got a real workout in as well. It was truly tiring! My whole body felt exhausted afterwads! I thanked Nicolas and the crew of the water sports stand (they are all extremely good looking, MIGHT I ADD!!!) and tanned for a while with Tamsin after the others had to go home. I came home a while ago, ate with my hostess' mother (who is really old and I can't understand a word she's saying and she doesn't hear a word I'm sayng) and now I will click the "save and publish" button :)
Before I do, I just want to inform you that I will try and take my own computer with me to school tomorrow, use the WiFi and publish some pictures from the last few days. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures from the parachute ride right now (damn, how will you believe me without picture proof?!) but I will get them from Tamsin and Marlon later :)

PS: For the person who sent an anonymous comment: I write in English to be able to reach more people :) Many of the people I meet here don't speak Swedish and I guess it wouldn't really work out if I wrote in French either since my vocabulary is extremely limited right now XD
Spice it up
So next time I write I will have something interesting to say, becaure today I'm trying out something truly exciting... Something completely new that I have never done before. You better cross your fingers for me. If I'll live to tell the story, you will know ;)
